Installer Frozen Halfway

notfed

Question

I just got Roxio "easy VHS to DVD", and am attempting to run it on Windows 7. The box says it works for Windows Vista and Windows XP, so I'm just assuming it should work for Windows 7.

Anyway when I try to run the installer, it gets stuck pretty much exactly at 50% saying "Installing Video Capture USB".

Anyone have any idea what's wrong?

Read the post in the following thread. It appears that you have the first version of the software, and it is not compatible with Win 7.

I suspected so. So, do updated versions of the software work on Windows 7? Any chance I could somehow get a newer version of it without needing to buy this again? I am surrounded by all Windows 7 machines. I can provide my CD KEY# and TSID#...

This is a users forum, and we are not Roxio. We are users just like you.

I would doubt that Roxio will give you the newest version without purchasing it. You could try returning the version you have, to wherever you purchased it. If they give you a refund, you won't be out much, if you then purchase the newest version from Roxio. It is on sale, at $10 off, for today, only.

Where did you buy it? Perhaps the store will exchange it for the correct version.

Did you look at the box to see if it has the Win7 logo in the corner???

One other though... The hardware, Roxio Video Capture USB, will work with any of the other Roxio products.

The Creator 2011 & 2012 and VideoLab HD will work with it.

The Easy CD and DVD Burning will too but it is VERY limited in what you can do!!!
