Try downloading and runnning ccleaner. Do not use the Registry Cleaner. Defrag your hard drive with somethign like Smart Defrag or Auslogics Defragger. You may have a lot of temp and tmp files on your computer. These progams are free and can be downloaded from cnet.com.

 

I assume you are talking about your hard drive and not a DVD, correct? The spelling is disk and not disc., correct?

Registry cleaners create more problems than they solve. They are fabulous money makers for those who sell them but not much good for anyone else. What do you expect to get in performance by running a registry cleaner? At most you can expect a very small increase in performance. If everything is running correctly than you don't need one. If it accidentally deletes something that is needed, it can crash a program or worse. If you are interested, you can search these forums for all the problems that occurred with other Roxio software in the past -- believe me there were many.

 

Having said that. I do use the Registry Cleaner in Revo Uninstaller but only in the safe mode and only to remove entire programs.
