Before I Buy.....

Question

Hi

I have been looking for something to help me record my game-play from my PS3 and Roxio could be the answer.

My current set up is.... PS3 --> HDMI --> AV RECEIVER --> HDMI --> TV (LG LED).

Is it possible to set the Roxio box up without disconnecting from the AV receiver? I do not want to lose HDMI quality OR my quality sound when playing my games. I plan to record quite often.

My thinking would be I would need to drop HDMI and the revceiver to allow the box to record, if so I may have to consider not buying the Roxio box.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Law

I don't own a PS3 (I'm an XBox guy) but I believe they can only be set for 1 video output at a time.

So to use the Component out you'd have to switch it to that in the setup. When you did I think that would disable the HDMI out.

When that happens then your setup won't work.

I may be wrong but if you check your setup options on the PS3 I'd bet you can tell.

Either way the Roxio device uses Component connections.

You could get a HDMI to Component adapter. But you'd need 2.I from the PS3 to go from HDMI to Component and then 1 before the receiver to go back to HDMI.Not sure how well that would work.

Up in the pinned topics there is this thread .

It has a video by one of the guys that posts here about still using HDMI.Take a look
