Verification Fails

Hi Group!

 

Every time I burn a disc in Toast 11.0.4 on my Mac running 10.7.2 (LION) the verification ALWAYS fails. No matter what kind of media I use.

I've seem similar posts referencing the same problem with no solution. I started noticing this when I upgraded Toast from 9 to 11 and from Snow Leopard to LION.

 

Anyone have any clues?

There may in fact be no error. Try using the compare feature in the Toast Utilities menu to see if that checks out okay. Incidentally, I don't always use verification but when I do I haven't had this error so I'm not certain what's causing it for others. Are you in the Data window? What settings are you using? I'd like to do the same thing as you are doing to see if I get the same outcome.

I'm using the defaults when burning. Nothing fancy. Should I try something else?

I'm burn in the DATA window.

Then I choose the type of media.

One thing I always do, or did, is create a new folder on disc and then drag the items into the newly created folder.

Not sure if that has anything to do with it. And then hit BURN.

You're referring to creating a new folder in the Toast window and adding the items to it, right? I've done the same. I don't think that is the source of the problem but it's worth seeing what happens if you don't create a new folder in Toast. Start by choosing New Disc in the Toast Data window and then add your folders and files to that. What's the result?

I have the same issue when making backup copies of audio CDs. I use Disc Copy on the Copy tab. Everything seems to work fine, but verify always fails right away with a mismatch error. Toast otherwise seems happy with the newly burned discs and they seem to play fine, so this seems like a false alarm. Still, it would be nice to have a working verify.

 

Running Toast 11.0.4 under OS 10.6.8, 2010 iMac with 8GB RAM.

Yah You'd better forget about verifier, it may come from dvd rom, sometimes happens, it's not Toast's fault, You just need to close Your eyes on that.
