Disc Copy Crashes/freezes Pc

greshoff

Question

I have a quad core 2.8ghz cpu and 8gb memory. When I try to copy a CD the program copies the cd ok but when I try to burn it it freezes the PC and the only way to get it working again is by rebooting. Any ideas on what is causing this and how to resolve it. I can burn CD without issue using itunes.

I have same problem, using Dell Studio 17 with quad core I7 and 6 gb memory, and using external BD/DVD writer along with the built-in DVD writer. In EVERY instance of trying to burn a disk of any type by any method -- Image burn, Copying DVD to DVD, Burning DVD and BD from within Creator 2012, etc -- the computer locks up and requires forced reboot. I can burn disks of all types using other software. I completely removed prior versions of Roxio software, including the Roxio package that came with the laptop, and have reinstalled several times. The problem remains.

What is the error you get with the gi file?

Tell us about the cd that you are trying to copy. It it perhaps a teaching/learning cd rather than a straight commercial audio cd? If so, does it play on your computer? Would the disc have any copy protection?

Can you rip the cd to your hard drive and burn that ripped contect?

I dont get any error the computer just freezes up after writing 594kb. The discs are various/any standard audio CDs without any protection. I have tried burning to both DVD rw drives with the same result. I can burn CD's & DVD's using these drives with alternative software so I dont think the drives are the issue.

No it has never worked using 2012. I have tried the repair option and this has not helped. I have tried burning a global image and this also fails to burn. I am very disappointed with this sofftware as it does not do what it is supposed to do.

Did it ever work?

Your using copy disc and it's creating a temp image on your hard drive?

You do have the option of running the repair when offered from the install disc too.

Try this and see if it works?
