"failed To Import Media In Authorscript. Error While Importing Media

rangevids

Question

I've seen fixes or attempted fixes for this error for Creator 2011 and 2010, but could not find a thread for this on the Creator 2012 Board. I get this message when I go to burn a DVD, after all steps of rendering have been completed.

I have 64bit Windows 7, and I had no problems installing the software. I have a brand new computer that I bought at the same time as the software, a little over 2 weeks ago. 6GRAM and 1TB hard drive.

The only fix I've tried is burning the disc image, but although it looked as though it had completed successfully, the file was nowhere to be found.

I don't mean to be picky, but I hope this fix is a one-time thing, and that I don't need to work around every video I try to burn.

I love my Roxio software that I've been using since 2004(?); I don't want to believe this product will not work as advertised.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Some more detail would be nice, all you have said is, don't work…step by step of what you are doing, what application in the Roxio suite you are using, etc, etc,

Well, I'm happy to report that I have a successfully burned DVD now. After trying 6-8 times with the original project and the image burn fix, I decided to just start over on the project, using a different menu. This time, the video rendered and burned very quickly, without the error at the end.

The only other difference I noticed between the successful and unsuccessful attempts was that during rendering, the videos did not play during the process. Instead, I just saw a grey screen with the word "mpeg" at the bottom, rather than live action. I have no idea if this had anything to do with the successful burn, but I'm happy to finally have my video.

Also, the new menu I chose did not have video clips as part of the menu.

Hoping I am done with errors and glad to have my DVD.

When the grey screen appears with the word "mpeg" it means that the video does not have to be encoded again since it is already in the correct DVD format. This will speed up the whole process considerably.

Since you got it to work by changing to ma different menu style seems to indicate that you video card is not up to date or can not handle some of the video requirements of the menu style you selected.

Sorry, I was in MyDVD.

I had mpeg files from my previous Roxio that I wanted to combine into a DVD project, and then burn it.

I added three videos, titled them on the menu, and hit the orange burn button.

Then, the screen came up that asked where I wanted to burn it, and then I selected the DVD ready in the drive, Roxio recognized it and confirmed there was plenty of space, and I began the burn process by hitting okay or whatever is in that window.

Then, I got a progress screen with the 5 steps of rendering. Each step was checked off as it progressed, and I could see the video playing as in rendered.

At the end of the fifth step was when I got the message: "failed To Import Media In Authorscript. Error While Importing Media"

I repeated this with the same project and got the same result. I tried burning the disc image alone, but the file was unlocatable (searched the directory where it was supposed to be sent). After trying to burn to the disc several more times, today I just decided to import the files to a different menu.

The first Menu skin that didn't work was "Satins", and the one that did work was "Cherry Blossom". I don't know if the menus were a factor at all, although the Satins menu involved video as part of the menu page and Cherry Blossom was just a title menu.

If you have any idea on what may have happened, that would be good to know. Otherwise, at least the suggestion is out there to try changing the project menu.

That makes sense, thanks!

You siad you git this error: "failed To Import Media In Authorscript. Error While Importing Media"

That error is usually associated with making a AVCHD or a blu-ray disc. Is that what you are doing or are you trying to burn a standard DVD?
