Roxio Videowave

ONTHEGREEN

Question

I have Roxio creator pro 2012,and I am using mpeg-2 video clips from my computer files to make my own video in videowave. I can edit etc and then want to burn to a disc- insert blank Sony dvd+r disk.I then go to OUTPUT and select SEND TO DVD, it burns ok and plays fine on my DVD player but when I put it back on my computer - auto play comes up, I choose to play using Windows Media Player, the Video opening credits appear but I cannot play the video because the "play" button is not available just the stop button. Has anybody any ideas what I'm doing wrong. Thanks

You didn't say what operating system you are using. Early versions of Windows Media Player do not natively play DVDs. Roxio sold a codec pack for that.

Try another player. Download the free VLC player from the net; it will play (almost) everything.

Thanks for your reply, 1st - my friend has a computer not a year old and it won't play on that either and he's running Windows 7. I want to send the video out to different clients, so need it to play on either DVD Player or Computer depending on what they have not just for my use.

My Computer Details: SONY VGN-FW41E [ about £1000] purchased AUG 2009

WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM, PROCESSOR : INTEL [R] CORE [TM] 2DUOCPU -T6400@ 2.00 GHZ, MEMORY : 4.00 GB, 32 BIT OPERATING SYSTEM. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

PS ; I'm not a computer wizard as you can tell, just self tought, and ROXIO is all new to me. Do you think I am doing all the right steps in VIDEO WAVE to get to the point of burning ?

Iam using SONY DVD +R BLANK DISCS

I'm sure you mean Video Wave !

Did you try the free VLC player?

What kind of DVDs are you using +R, -R, RW? Ar eyyou using a good quality DVD - don't use store brands or Memorex. Use Verbatim; they are available locally or JVC Taiyo Youden; web sales only.

You will never get 100% of the people able to play the DVD on a video player nor on a computer if they don't have the ability.

The only things I would change is:

1) After you are finished editing, save the project and close Video Wave.

2) Open Create DVD add a menu if you like bu tthat is not necessary. Note, wihtout a menu, the video will automatically repeat.

3) You can create your own menu page. This owul be a good place for a company logo.

4) Add the video file that you saved.

5) Select best quality or same as original for resolution.

5) When you select burn, uncheck burn to disc and check create ISO file. Name the ISO and where you want it placed.

6) After the ISO is encoded, (You can play it in VLC player to preview it.), use the application on the data/copy tab to "Burn the ISO to a disc.

7) You can burn that ISO to as many discs as you want.

8) The discs should be able to be played on both a DVD player and on the computer since it will be the same structure as commercial discs.

In the future, please do not post in capitals unless you have a vision problem. It makes the post hard to read and is also considered "shouting" and poor etiquette.
