Hello.I have just installed Roxio 2012 and want to import all 41000 music tracks from my C drive. I've been looking at the tutorials, but none of them tell me how.Can you help me out by telling me how to do it please. Thank you.

What do you mean by "import"? Import to where?

Perhaps if you explained what you want to create..?

I want to import all the tracks from my hard drive into Roxio Creator 2012 so that I can 'drag and drop' tracks for burning onto cd or creating a playlist much in the same way as I currently do with RealPlayer/WinAmp. When I currently call up this information, all I get shown by the Roxio are the basic file paths. Since the file paths do not always show the information I need, looking for a track this way is very time consuming. Hence my need to import all the tracks.I'm getting the impression that adding media files to Roxio in the same way as I did for RealPlayer/WinAmp isn't possible.I hope this explanation will assist.Thank you.

There may be an issue with the program. I just looked at the "Burn CD" application. In that window there should be two sets of columns. On the left would be the list of music on your computer, on the right is the drag to screen. On mine, I see only one - the column on the right. I do not see the column on the left. There is supposed to be a control to allow the dual columns but I do not see it in my installation.

What do you see? It may be my installation or the Pro version.

I think very few people use that application since this is the first post I remember that brought up the subject.

Have you tried using the :Create Audio Disc Projects" application? That is more flexible and allows several types of fade in and out options. . Check out the "Beat Match" feature

With that many files, you may want to take a look at the Media Manager part of the suite to see if that helps you.

On the Music/Audio section, go to 'Enjoy', then 'Browse and Manage Media'

I'm importing the file paths from the c drive and so far three things have happened....

1.I am importing directly and in the left hand column I have configured it to show 'Artists'.

2.When the 'Artist' - Matt Monro for example - is complete, a drop-down box when clicked shows all the tracks by this artist no matter how many files he appears in.

3.I have also found I can drag and drop individual tracks into the second colum for beat management etc.

It is a very long-winded job as the importation takes time - currently 60 tracks a minute. When its finished,it'll be a really useful product! Not bad for only having it three hours.

Thank you for your help.

To look on the cheerful side, you should have them all cataloged in 11 and a half hours, so long as you don't run out of memory or space. :)

Hello Brendan.

I'm very cheerful indeed all will be done during the day! I'm lucky to have plenty of space (fingers crossed) and memory to finally get to using this product. Just hope the poor cpu can cope.

All the best.

Hi.Thought you'd like to know that importing the tracks in this 'trickle' format didn't work and got stuck at 15000 tracks. Since I couldn't see any other way to import them directly - and neither could Roxios techie department - I have regettably uninstalled the Roxio and will sell it on soon. I've gone back to using WinAmp and am currently seeing if there is any add-ons such as beat-match and sound-levelling that will do the job. I was hoping Roxio would also act as my media player of choice, but I also realise this is not its purpose but wish that it were. Thank you for all your help though. It was greatly appreciated.
