Device Not Recognized

Undead Wolf

Question

Every time I connect my Roxio to any computer, it immeadiately fails the driver installation and then becomes an unknown device that can't be used. I am using Windows 7 64 Bit so I don't see why this is happening. The Roxio isn't damaged at all, neither are the cords, so I can't see why this is happening. Please help!

Right click uninstall it, remove the USB Device and don't put it back in until your told to. Now reboot the PC, when it's back up and running put the installation disc in a drive and when REPAIR is offered choose it and run it.

Reboot the pc and plugin the USB Device and look for the two correct drivers in Device Manager.

I did all this and it still doesn't work. Is there another way?

Define what "still doesn't work" means?

The unknown device shows back up in device manager?

Nothing shows up in device manager?

You put the USB device back in the PC before you ran repair?

yes and after I followed your instructions, the unknown device shows back up in device manager.

Then windows should of gave you a popup when you plugged in the USB Device didn't it?

I growing tired of trying to pull information out of you.

I don't think I'm getting the whiole story or you aren't telling me the whole story.

You do have a Roxio Game Capture Retail Installation Disk and you ran repair from that disc?

Once you have installed the software, look in device manager for these two entries with the Roxio Game Capture USB device plugged into your PC.

The arrow shows the capture card once I plug it in.

With the Roxio USB Device Plugged in right click the unknown device and click uninstall.

Remove the Roxio USB Device and reboot the PC.

Now put the installation disc in a drive and when the installer offers a repair choose it, when done reboot the PC and plugin the Roxio USB device and look for these two entries.

Well, great. Nothing. Wasted $100... I don't even have the box/reciept either. ://

What does "Nothing" mean?

Do you meet minimum system requirements?

Did you shut down programs including antivirus software when installing Roxio Game Capture?

Was the Roxio Game Capture USB Device unpluged from the PC until after you reinstalled the software and rebooted?

I'm having the same exact problem. It worked the first time I plugged it in and installed the Roxio disc but now it keeps showing this:

Also I have tried everything that was suggested above and it shows the same thing.

I am having the exact same Problem

This is what I started off with this

As you can see there is nothing in source.

Then I had a look at the device in device manager and it comes up with this

I have followed all these instructions and I still get these Results. I'm from the UK and I'm always struggling with Capture Cards so I got this as it seems to be the best and easier to use.

I have done everything possible.

If this information helps I have windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

Processor: AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core QL-65 2.10Ghz

RAM: 3GB

System type 32-bit

Laptop: HP Pavilion

Is there another way that I could get this to work?
