Split - My Own Installation Problems

wildewonder

Question

Hi. Just joined the group and have a similar problem. Have been working with roxio help but taking up lots of time. Here is where I am: checked everything you have already instructed. Just copied the disc to a folder on my desktop. When I open the file, there is no setup.exe . Should I be seeing exactly that?

Just want to be sire before I delete this.

From the start button, "run", %temp%, edit, select all. Here is the screen.

Yes, delete.

Or did you just mean to look for the c:\ProgramData....... files?

No leave alone, because I don't know what RoxioNow is, and don't want to break it.

Yes

you said copy files from disc to hard drive. did you mean to copy the Roxio disc to the desktop?
Yes make a folder on the desktop and copy all files from the disc to the desktop folder.

then am I supposed to run the roxio easy vhs to dvd from the file I just copied and pasted?
Yes run setup.exe from the folder on the desktop.

post-101267-013029000 1325275557.jpgI have RoxioNow. See attached.

Came with the PC?

I've never heard of it.

Do # 2, 3 and 4 along with the Re-boots..

Do not do this.

Delete these if found,

Vista and Win7:

C:\ProgramData\Sonic\rxc.db

C:\ProgramData\Sonic\sarlicense11.dat

C:\Users\<installed user>\AppData\Local\Sonic_Solutions (Delete whole folder)

Thanks for the fix on the file extension. I am still missing: CDkey.txt and RoxioEasyVHStoDVD_IR10AXD0VHS.iso per the illustration by cdanteek. Are these files supposed to be ther also?

Easy VHS to DVD is the only Roxio Sonic application installed?

If so read below, if you have other Roxio programs stop and tell me?

1. Uninstall all Roxio Applications from Control Panel

Reboot the PC

2. Delete cache files from hard drive, type run in the start search box, run command will be the top one click it, then type %temp% in the open box, then click ok.

Those 2 files won't be on a commercial Roxio disc... The ones we Guru's got are just a little different...

At least we can see from you screen caps that you are running Win7 and you have the Roxio 201B Build of EVHS ;)

cdanteek should have some good suggestions for you ~ he ususally does ;)

You seem to have the "hide extensions for known file types" enabled and that is why you do not see the "setup.exe". It is the last "setup" entry in your list

.

You should always have the extensions for all files showing.

In Windows Explorer select Tools/Folder Options/View and then clear the check mark for "Hide Extensions"
