Crash During Editing

Spiff52

Question

I just purchased Toast 11 and now am getting this same "Wrong FileCacheItem instance choosed for reading" error as described elsewhere when trying to edit a 1 hr long video from Nat Geographic Channel via Comcast. Has there been any resolution to this problem, or am I just now out my $ and out of luck? Please help!

I'm having trouble with the editor, too, and don't know what Roxio is doing about fixing this. In the meanwhile what I've had to do is use MPEG Streamclip to edit. If this is a TiVo Transfer the .tivo package can be removed using TiVo Decoder (although you can't be running Lion to use that). The application iTiVo also can be used to transfer and decrypt the TiVo programs to the Mac. After the .tivo package is removed the resulting .mpeg video file can be edited by MPEG Streamclip. I've also resorted to using an MPEG editor on a PC.

What I have been able to do with Toast's editor is choose an start and end point. But when I've tried to mark multiple edits Toast messes up the final result. I don't recall if I've encountered a crash during an edit. That suggests the video file may have a break in it somewhere which MPEG Streamclip can also fix.
