Drive Not Detected

mcrosten

Question

Creator 2012 Pro not working as drive is not detected. I have been through what seems like every troubleshooting step and nothing is working. The problem is confined to Creator. I can burn CDs/DVDs/Blu-Ray discs fine in Windows and with Cyberlink. Anyone else have the same issue. I'm about to give up on this software.

There is a particular part of the Windows Registry which references a filter that Windows uses to see your optical drives.

Roxio programs insert a reference to Roxio's PX filter in that same part of the registry, so they can see your Burners.

It would appear that the link to the Roxio filter has broken, and the filter needs reinstalling.

Please read post# 6 of THIS TOPIC carefully. If you follow CDanteek's instructions you will reinstall Roxio's PX Engine, and Creator should see your burner(s) again.

Brendon

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, that did not work.

"Did not work" is not telling me much, sorry.

Did the procedure not work properly and you didn't get the response screens that are shown in CD's instructions, or did it work fine and you got the proper responses but after a reboot Creator still doesn't see the drive? Or something else happened during the procedure?

I appreciate your efforts to help. I spent a week with Roxio support exchanging emails with the result being they could never get Creator to recognize my burner even though I can burn in Windows, with PowerDirector and with another disc-burning product. We have since returned all of our purchased copies.
