What's the difference between upgrading to "premium" PhotoShow versus Upgrading my Roxio Creator to the 2012 version??

PhotoShow is more or less dedicated to creating slideshows. Roxio Creator 2012 is a whole suite of programs for editing/creating video DVD, 3D DVDs, HiDef, audio discs, data discs, etc. In other words, C2012 does a whole lot more.

If I may expand on Walt's answer concering the PhotoShow Premium membership.

Walt already covered upgrading your program to Creator 2012. As you probably know, there are over 30 applications in Creator - it handles video, images, audio, back up, playback, and other things.

The PhotoShow Premium service is an on-line "storage and sharing" location for your PhotShow crerated slide shows over the length of time you have the membership. The free Photoshow is time limited on the storage of the photoshow, and there are further limits on the number and type of images and video you can use. The premium version also allows you to use your own mp3 files.

Perhaps if you tell us what you want to do, we can answer your question more thoroughly. For instance, use of videos as well as images, sharing on-line or not, how do you want to distribute your projects (PhotoSHow will put one project on one disc) vs multiple projects (slideshows) on a disc, how much personalization do you want to do; and anyhting else you might want.

Do you alreay have a version of Easy Media Creator or Creator; what version? Did you buy it or was it on your computer when you got it.

Thank you both for your replies! I have Roxio Creator Starter, which came with my new Dell laptop. What do I want? Well, I'm a woman so I want everything! LOL It would be great if I could make a biography/photo album by scanning in all the old photos of my son growing up to make a nice book&dvd. But it doesn't seem that Roxio offers anthing that allows you to write, besides just captions, right? Also for future events, vacations, etc. I like the slide shows. They are fantastic and something that everyone enjoys. So, I think I may start with upgrading to Roxio 2012 since it offers "more".

I'm not sure what is in Creator Starter edition but you should have either Video Wave (Edit Video Advanced) and/or MyDVD (Create DVD). Have you looked at making a slide show with those applications? karri made a great set of tutorial videos on the use of Video Wave and Photo Suite. Perhaps your should start there before doing anything else. The videos are here (link) You may have most of what you want already.

I'm not sure what you mean by "write" but you could add a color panel in a production and write anyhting you want. Some people just use copy and paste from Ms Writer or similar.

EDIT: I just found this about the starter edition and the earlier version of Creator 2011. It does not seem to have what I thought was in it. It is easentially a burning piece of software. It looks like you'll have to upgrade.

You may still be able to get some sort of upgrade discount to Creator 2012. ( Buy on-line or order disc from Roxio will give you a 30 day $$ back option ) If you have a Cosco near you or a Sam's, you may be able to find the Se edition whoch gives you the A/D converter to convert analog videos and save them to you computer. Thjere are a couple of things missing that you may not need.

I have bought photo show premium I do not have Roxio creator. I am hoping there is way to upgrade an transfer all my photo show videos I am trying to make a slide show for my grandsons graduation. I like Roxio Photo Show and I though if I buy the creator that this might be possible to transfer this photo show to the new soft ware that lets me make videos. I had got 400 pictures on photo show and I have that many more room. I want to make a dvd of his life of growing up and now after hours of creating on photo show I can't go no farther. I want to get program that will let me continue with what I got some how and ad to it. I guess what I am asking is will my Roxio Photo Show account Transfer to Roxio Creator ?
