How Do I Create Chapters From One Video?

Hi -

 

I have a finished 5-minute video that I would like to split into three chapters.

 

I want to create a DVD with a menu that has the option to play the DVD straight through or to allow the viewer to skip to the next chapter at any time.

 

I have looked, but I just can't find any instruction how to do this. I believe my question is obvious, but I just can't find the answer.

 

I suspect that I may have to split my finished 5-minute finished video into three separate finished videos (I can do this) and then build a DVD comprised of my the chapters / video files.

 

If true, is there a way to prevent VW12 from applying a volume fade at the front and back of my splits?

Do you want the main menu and the ability to select "chapters" on the same front menu page?

 

Remember that chapters are like chapters in the book so you can select the start location but the end location is the end of the book -- or in this case, the end of the video. The main video will be on the main page and the chapters will be on the second menu page (the chapter) page.

 

If you want all buttons on the main page. You must make three separate projects out of that video and then add each to the main menu. You would then add an unlinked button and link that button to all of the separate projects or just add the original project with a menu button. . The help menu in Create DVD will give you all the directions. You can make three separate projects by taking your project and deleting what you are calling 2 of the chapters. Save that as a new project, close it and reopen the original project and cut out what you don't want. Those chapters are now new movies.
