My Dvd Gives Error When It Is 95%

Hi i being using roxio for a while and had different versions and this is due that I never had problems with it.

 

few months ago i got Roxio Creator 2011 and was help with it and i mostly use the "video wave" and so to recode the video to a DVD then I used "MYDVD".

 

Now i am trying to rec a video i took with mydvd but when it comes to 95% it always stops. I have to dvdrw in my pc and they both given me the same problem.

 

this problem happen for more then once then i removed the software and re installing again and it recode well so i don't think its from my dvdrw but there is something with the software because i am trying to rec the same video on another dvd and again it is freezing at 95% ....

 

can someone help me pls cause i have about 7 video to recode and they need them very fast

That is an industry problem. See these posts via Google. Most people still attribute it to porr quality media writing to near the edge of the disc. How much in terms of time are you burning to the disc? Anything over one hour at best quality might be the problem.

 

I forgot to mention 2 other things. You can burn at a slower rate and you can burn to an ISO file and then write that ISO (image) file to a DVD.

 

You may also need to update the firmware for your burner but be careful or you could end up with a small door stop.

None of those options will work if you use "fit-to-disc" which is the worst selection you can make.

 

A standard 4.7GB DVD can only hold 60 minutes of video at the best quality setting. If longer the video gets compressed and you lose quality.

Your best bet would be to split the video into 2 60 minute segments.

So how one of them it recoded without any problem... the only problem is I cannot give them two disk cause it is a talk so it needs to be on the same disk. and i can't use an 8gb dvd that is a dual layer because I don't now if there DVD could read it.

Who is your audience and how do you know they don't have the capability of playing the double layer disc or to get up from the chair and change out the discs?

 

There are options and you will have to find the best for your situation.

 

1) Create an ISO file encoded at best quality. Use Video Copy and Convert to burn that ISO file to the single layer DVD. Live with what you get. (Note': most commercial DVD are pressed on double layer DVD so capability to play them is almost a given.) The double layer may not work if the video is 2 hours or more. Cut something out.

 

2) Use a compressed format DivX is one of them. Most modern DVD players will play DivX.

 

3) Take it to a professional video burning company and have them press the video onto a disc. Be prepared to spend $$$$$$$.
