Vob Files Mixed With Imovie Files

clancooney

Question

I am trying to burn a "greatest hits" DVD of my daughter's performances. Most of my clips were taken with my video camera and converted through iMovie. However, one of the clips I want is from a DVD - released for use, no encryption.

I can pull all five clips into the video window, but when I try to write a DVD it says it can't find the .vob file, whether my original content .vob is in the drive or not. Is it not possible to mix .vob files with iMovie files on one DVD? I bought Popcorn yesterday and found out it didn't do what I needed - then I turned around and bought Toast. I'm spending a lot of money for software, and I hope it will do what I want.

You can mix videos from those different sources. Insert the source DVD and choose DVD from under the Video tab in the Toast Media Browser. There you should see all the titles on the video DVD. Select and drag whichever you want to the main Toast window. You'll get another window giving you the option to mark a segment of the video if you choose.
