Error While Creating Hd Dvd Using Bd Plugin.

mjoshi123

Question

I've Toast 11 Titanium and I purchased BD Plugin which should allow me to create HD video on a regular DVD. I'm using Sony DVD-R and I've created a DVD slideshow in .mov format from iMovie. Everything encodes just fine and at the end when it is writting to DVD it gives me hardware error. I've so far used more than 5 DVDs to do this and everytime it gives same Hardware error when it reaches 48% of writting DVD. (encoding phase completes 100% without any problem, just the writting lead-out phase is having issues). Is there any patch for this issue ? I'm using it on Snow Leopard 10.6 and my macbook pro has 8GB of RAM, it is 2010 version with Core2Duo 2.4GHz.

Does this error occurs with one image or with all images when burning?

I'm not sure if I get your question correctly or I framed my issue correctly to be understood by wider audience. I've more than 300 pictures at high resoultion from a wedding I shot. I created a slideshow in iMovie with those pictures and exported that slideshow as .mov file to my local harddisk.

Thank I use Toast Titanium 11 with BD plugin to burn a HighDef video on regular DVD using .mov file that I created. It starts with Encoding process and completes encoding process to 100% and after that it starts writing to DVD and in "lead-out" phase of writting when it reaches around 40% it fails giving Hardware error. I've used Toast to copy and created simple Data DVDs in past and without any issue it has created DVD everytime from same machine with same drive and same disc type. For some reason it is failing to do it when I want to creat HD Dvd on a regular DVD and that is what the plug-in is advertised by Roxio of doing. Any support document on this aspect ? The .mov file size is roughly 2.3GB and the DVD size is normal single layer DVD i.e 4.3GB so there is no space issue here.

I don't know why this is happening but try this workaround: When you are ready to click the burn button go to the File menu and choose Save as Disc Image. When that is finished go to Toast's Copy window and choose Image File as the format. Select the .toast image file that was written and click the burn button. Do you encounter any problem using this workaround? Also, double-check the Roxio Converted Items folder to make sure the pictures were encoded in HD and not SD. That was a problem with some versions of Toast.

Thanks for your help - I'll try that and see if it helps.
