Question

When I boot my computer the Data Disc Window for Creator DE is showing on my desktop. It is not listed in my startup programs and I have no idea how or why it is showing up when I boot my computer. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I'm attaching a screenshot of what is showing on my desktop when I first turn my computer on. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank You,post-102692-082614000 1330543433.jpg

You have a OEM version (from Dell). Dell provides ALL support for their version.

Hello Marie,

There are several different 'startup' areas in Windows which will start programs when Windows is started. It's likely that there is an entry in one of these areas, but you haven't told us which area you've looked in.

Has this always been happening, or has there been an event which might have started it?

Perhaps you could check the easiest-accessed one first. Would you go to your Windows Start button and run msconfig.exe

That should give you a display something like this.

Click the Startup tab I've outlined in red, and see of there's a Roxio or Creator item in the list of startup programs.

If there's nothing in there, run Regedit.exe and navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

See if there's an item in there which could be doing this.

Please report your progress.

Regards,

Brendon
