K Dorset
Hi. I purchased Roxio VHS to DVD for MAC. After installing the program I was rearing to go...but stumbled at the first hurdle. It doesnt capture...infact there is no feed at all. Im pretty sure the USB device is working as when i disconnect i from the computer with the program running it asks me to reconnect the USB. I am using the composite cables and have tried a few pairs that i found in storage..so i don't think its that. I was using a built in TV/VHS with single Yellow (video) and Red composite inputs which didnt work so I bought a cheap VHS player and connected it using a scart-composite adaptor from my xbox. STILL DOESNT WORK!!! I have tried on my MBPRO (10.6.8) as well as my Dads intel Imac. I am really stuck and loosing my nerve, also no way of refund as the 30day warranty ran out last week! balls!!! Please help.
tsantee
Is the application that came with it called "Roxio Video Capture" or is it called "Easy VHS to DVD Capture"? Start up the application without the device connected. It should ask you to plug in the device. Plug it in to a USB 2 port and not one on a USB hub or keyboard. At this point the application should recognize the device is connected. In the app settings make sure you have selected Composite as the input source. You mention the "inputs" on one player that didn't work. Just in case that wasn't a misstatement you need to connect to outputs from the VCR. If the same cables can play a picture and audio when connected to a TV they should be able to play to the Roxio device.
