Tivo Transfer And Lion...

timhugginspdx

Question

I am trying to use TiVo Transfer. It's *very* frustrating.

I reached out to tech-support after 90 minutes of surfing this forum and the web for answers. I got two automated responses, and then "radio silence."

I just purchased Toast 11 yesterday. 11.0.4 is the version number. I am running Mac OS 10.7.2

When I launch TiVo Transfer, and enter my MAK, my TiVo *still* does not appear in the list.

I have rebooted my computer, and my TiVo. I have followed every step listed in the support section *twice.*

I even installed everything on another computer to see if that would fix it. It didn't. Same symptoms.

Am I the only one having this issue? I'm baffled. Is Toast 11 and Lion even compatible? I get some sense that they may not be... All I want to do is transfer movies from my TiVo to my computer. So badly, that I dropped $79.99 to make that happen, but now I think I just wasted my money.

Any kind souls out there willing to give me some guidance?

Thanks.

I'm sorry you're having such difficulty. Yes, TiVo Transfer works with Lion. There shouldn't be a problem. Take a look at this troubleshooting guide to see if any of these tips will help. (Sorry if that's what you already were referring to trying twice). Please describe more about how your Mac is networked to the TiVo.

I suppose you tried unplugging the TiVo and plugging it in again.

Hello timhugginspdx or anyone else with the similar issue.

I'm glad that I am not the only one who has had this experience.

I have the exact same issue with not seeing my tivo listed.

The only difference is that I am using Snow Leopard.

Did you happen to find a solution?

Thanks!

Hi,

I am new hear but I had the same problem yesterday. I have a new TIvo box and had to transfer everything from old box to computer. I also purchased Roxio yesterday and had the same problem with my Tivo DVR not showing up in the transfer window. I called Tivo and they walked me through what to do. I had to unplug my dvr and wait a little bit and then start it again. Then, well, actually, I'm very sorry but I don't remember what all he had me do and I don't want to go check the menus on my dvr to see if I can figure it out. I don't want to steer you wrong. But just wanted to say to call Tivo customer service. They actually have a human being that is very nice and will walk you right through it. I now have my dvr showing up on the transfer screen. Now, I just have to transfer the 401 files, argh!!! But I looked for a phone number to call customer service to see if I can have the transfer go to my Apple Time Capsule which has 1 TB free storage. But I can't find a number to call and now I see that they must not have any support over the phone. That is awful!!!!! I am so grateful to Tivo's very nice customer support. I hope this helps. There is something in the Tivo menus that you need to do but I just can't remember what it is. Sorry!! Good Luck!!
