Fotomagico / Lost Install

debit72

Question

I bought Toast 11 Pro several months ago. At the time I thought I installed everything. But I didn't have a use for FotoMagico, so I never opened it. Now I want to use it. When I open it, I'm asked for a license key. I've been through Roxio support and they tell me that there is no license key necessary; all I need to do is just "continue" through the screens until I get to the application. So I tried that, but when actually make a slideshow, there is a big huge watermark all over the slideshow that says "THIS IS A DEMO VERSION OF FOTOMAGICO."

Is this really how it's supposed to work?

Unfortunately I accidentally deleted my Toast 11 install .dmg (oops). Is there any way I can get that back? My download links no longer work.

The information you were given is correct. After launching and entering the registration key for Toast you should be able to launch Fotomagico. Its license is tied to the Toast 11 Pro license. The Boinx site (developers of Fotomagico) confirms this by stating there is no registration key required for this "Roxio Edition." The Toast install .dmg directs the Fotomagico app to install at the top level of your Applications folder.

So I don't know why it isn't working. Is it possible you downloaded a version from Boinx and that is the one you're trying to use? I suggest going to your user>Library>Preferences folder and deleting any preferences that have fotomagico in the name. Then try launching Fotomagico again.

There is no way for you to get the Pro .dmg download again. Maybe you know someone who has a copy.

A couple notes about Fotomagico. The Roxio edition is comparable to the $30 home edition. Boinx offers a $49 upgrade to the Pro version from the Roxio Edition. They note that this upgrade is easiest via an "assistant integrated into Fotomagico 3." That may be a problem if your Fotomagico doesn't identify itself as a licensed version.
