Uninstallation/installation Update

scrogs

Question

Tried this and got error code 04C7. Tried this in the hopes reinstaling would fix the problem of not being able to open a new.dmss file I just created and saved using slideshow assistant.

Failing this, I tried downloading/installing Service Pack 2 and this also did not work with a statement rthat said "cannot delete target file", which appeared as "RCEngine4.dll" at he end of a long address.

As stated in my October 2011 issue, Roxio Creator home page for opening a saved file will not allow opening anything other than a .rox or .ROXIO file.

Did you try using the FREE Revo Uninstaller to Uninstall the program using the Moderate mode? If not, how did you uinstall the program? If you did not use Revo to uninstall and you still have the same issue. either the disc is damaged, you reader can't read the disc properly or there is another issue with your computer.

It would have been helpful to put a link to that earlier discussion in this thread.

BTW, very few people use the Slide Show Assistant because of how limited it is. Use Video Wave and you will probably not have the issue.

The Slide Show Assistant that you have was dropped from the later versions. Something similar is still there as part of Video Wave but you have to look for it.

I will try to locate and use the REVO Uninstaller. I tried to repair and unintall Roxio Creator 2010 using Windows 7 Control Panel and was not able to do either (see previous post on error code 04C7). As I said earlier, could not download/install Service Pack 2 which I hoped would fix the 2010 problem.

Yes, we have had good experince with Video Wave following our October 2011 .dmss problem with Slideshow Assistant. So, we are trying this now and have a very large slideshow (almost 1000 photos)that closes unexpectedly citing a run time error.

As youy stated, perhaps I have a bad application disc. How can I check the integrety of this disc?

Thanks for you support...Scrogs

A slideshow with 1000 pictures? Over how long a time period?

What October 2011 problem are you referring to? Do you have a link? Don't expect people to search these forums for it.

As sknis said, forget about using Slideshow Assistant as it has been dumped anyway and stick with Videowave.
