Burn Dvd From Tivo W/toast 11 On Macbook Pro

trisportsguy

Question

I've got a new MacBook Pro. I've loaded Toast 11 onto it and I've installed the most recent updates so it's current. I've brought several programs over from my TiVo Series 2 unit. I've burned a 30-minute DVD video onto a 4.7GB DVD (twice). The whole process has worked with no problems or errors (messages). But the DVDs won't play on the DVD player that is connected to my TV. What gives? What am I doing wrong? Do I need DL (dual layer) DVDs? The MacBook has lots of memory, lots of hard disk space, fastest processor, upgraded graphics card, so it can't be the source of the problem. Can someone help? Thanks!

I'm don't know why the DVDs aren't playing. When you insert one in the Mac and open it in the Finder do you see a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO _TS folder? If so, you (and Toast) did this correctly. Does it play on the Mac using DVD Player?

Thanks tsantee. Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, the VIDEO_TS A D AUDIO_TS folders are there. The nexus options are first trying the DVD at local electronics retailer. It may be that my DVD player is outdated for current formats.
