Xbox 360 Roxio Game Capture Card Problems..plz Help!

So i recently went and bought a roxio game capture card. I set it up exactly how many youtube videos showed and it didnt work. The instructions say to turn your component cables on your xbox to hd mode but when i do, my screen goes black and i have no signal from the capture card. When i turn it to tv mode, i can see my xbox on my tv but i cant see it in the preview window of the software and i have no signal from the capture card. Can someone please help me?!?!? Any help would be greatly appreciated

How are you connected from your capture card to your HD TV?..

well i used the cables that came with it and i connected one end to the capture card and the other to the back of my tv on video 4 input because the video 4 input is the only one with the green, blue, and red slots

well i used the component cables that came with the capture card and plugged one end to the capture card and the other one to the video 4 input on the back on my tv because video 4 is the only input that has slots for the red, blue, and green cables

What kind of TV do you have. What are the jacks listed as? Video 4 input doesn't tell us anyhting about where you have the wire plugged in. It sounds like an HD TV. You may need to get the applicableone of these.

i have a sony trinitron. my setup looks exactly like the picture on the roxio website and i bought my component cable from the link you listed. On the back of my tv, there is are slots that say y (green, pb(blue), pr(red), then have L(white) and R( red). I plugged the cables in to the corresponding colors then connected the other side to the cpature card

That narrows it down to a few dozen. Please don't make us pull teeth. What is the model number? We could go on for several days asking and having you do partial replies. Wouldn't you like to get answers sooner than that? Take the time.

Sorry....My tv is a sony trinitron: model number: KV-27FS120

On your Xbox select the appropriate screen resolution for your TV, in your case 480i.

 

And of course you would select the Input 4 on your TV.

Shouldn't make any difference, also try powering down and then on, your Xbox.

480i is not an option on my xbox only 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p

Set it to TV (standard definition) what your TV is.

 

Use the red, white, and yellow connections on the Xbox cable (standard definition)..
