Question

I captured about 40 min. of video. Had the file go to my desktop. When my hard drive got down to 2gigs during Finishing, it stopped. The file on the desktop was only 4kb. Cannot find file to delete. Where does it go?

Perhaps there is some mis-statements in your thread. If you captured a file to your desktop, that is where it is, right click to delete.

Clear your temp and tmp files and you may be able to remove the partial file. Also look in the folder where you were working. You should have some files with the name of the project. . Delete them. If you don't know where the folder is, use Windows to search for the project name. It will show the files and the folder location. Go there and delete.

Suggestion. Use the free CCleaner to remove the junk and un-needed files. Do not use the Registry Cleaner part of CCleaner.

I'm not sure of what you mean by the text I bolded in your post above. Do you mean that you only have 2 gig left on your hard drive? As you may know, that could be a real problem for you. IS it a solid state drive? You must delete some space on any hard drive it in orider to do any processing -- even to do any defrag fro non-optical drive. Get an external hard drive if you need to keep everything.

What maintenance do you do regularly on that computer?

It quit recording because your hard drive is to full and the operating system needs some space to work.

Click start run, type %temp%, click OK. You can click edit, select all, then click file, delete, some things won't delete if running..Everything in here is OK to delete, some folders will reappear after shutdown.

Record

Record videos and then save them as files. The files are stored in the folder that is defined in File > Preferences. In this mode, Easy VHS to DVD always records at the best quality setting.
