Roxio Game Capture (Console) Won't Install

MrGasmoney

Question

So I try to install the Roxio Game Capture for Console, but whenever i put it in my cd tray, the tray doesnt recognize the CD. I have used lots of other peoples CD trays and it does the same thing. However, i did install it on my desktop, but i can really take my desktop up two floors and put it next to my Xbox to record so i was wondering if anyone knew the files to transfer onto like an External hard drive so i could get it to run on my laptop, or a solution to this besides buying a new product.

Thank you very much!

Which computer was the first you used - the desktop? If it installed on your desktop, the disc would have been OK AT ONE TIME. Look at it closely to see if there is any goop on the edge of the disc or if there are scratches. If so , clean the disc..

Did you just install the program from the disc or did you originally copy the disc to you computer to install it. Did you back that up?

You can try to get help directly from Roxio but you'll have to ask.

PS Why did you install the program on a computer that you were not going to use. Remember you can use the program only on one computer according to the license agreement.

I first installed it on the desktop to see if how it would set up and to see if i could manage storage sace. My computer has 2 drives. a C and D drive. I only have about 200m on my C drive and i wanted to check if i could change the destination.

No i directly installed it from the disk to my computer. It didnt occur to me that i should copy it to make a back up, if thats even possible. I'm not the most computer savvy.

and ohhh i didnt know that. I've never heard of something like that. Thanks for the info!

You may want to look at these to see if you can repair the disc. I've had good luck with some old scratched DVDs I used a Memorex device because I work with a lot of old discs but there may be one less expensive for your small amout of uses.
