OK, I like to livestream my consoles using XSplit.
I currently have 2 different capture cards. When I am recording with the Roxio, I have noticed that after several hours recording, the gamecap just crashes and starts to get laggy. No matter what I do, I have found that I wont be able to record with it for the rest of the day, restarting the computer, unplugging the gamecap, etc, nothing works besides shutting everything down and leaving it for several hours. In addition, the sound output through the Roxio line 1 is absolutely appalling.
My current setup is to send the audio to my other capture device (Which has problems capturing pal-60, I would use that otherwise) and video to the Roxio. It works smoothly, most of the time, until it just suddenly starts crashing. I am absolutely certain this is not a software error, as even when I am running both capture devices through the same software, only the video from the Roxio breaks, not the audio.
I am fed up of having to cut my gaming sessions short because of the Roxio. Is there any fix or known cause of this issue? Also, is there any way to fix the audio? My choice is either to plug the audio cables into the microphone port, or send it to a different capture device which frees up the microphone port for a microphone, which strikes me as being unnecessary.
The roxio is definitely the better of my capture cards, it just doesn't work for hours on end.
This is a video of what it used to be like for me after long periods of time. Now instead of screwing up, it just freezes, and I bypass the capture cards audio and send it to a different one instead. It looks absolutely fantastic right up until it stops working. it sounds awful though.
