Toast Not Adding File Extensions To Converted Files

If I rip a CD or convert a .dv to iTunes format, it creates a file NAME but not NAME.m4v ... it confuses some programs... previous versions did this.

In the Advanced tab of your Mac's Finder preferences there is an option to "Show all filename extensions." Does turning this on display the extensions from the Toast-burned disc?

No. The files Roxio creates do not have extensions. I believe it started two updates ago.

 

I am not going to test everything but it definately happens when I convert to iPad 3 (1080).

 

AND the files cannot be imported into iTunes. Doesn't Roxio check these things before release or check these forums for issues?

You're right. I just tested this using your settings and Toast did put the video in the iTunes Library but without the extension. It did not, however, appear in iTunes until after I added the .mp4 extension and selected it with the import command within iTunes.

 

You alerted me to a new feature that wasn't in the version of 11.0.5 that Roxio sent me a few weeks ago. They must have added the 3rd generation 1080P setting at the last minute before 11.0.5 was released.

 

Please use the Feedback link in the Toast Help menu to inform Roxio of this problem with leaving off the extension. I'll do the same.
