Error Code= -50

Question

Hi guys,

I have been converting movies to video ts files using RipIt for a couple of years and taking those video ts files and converting them to mp4 using toast. Now that the new update has come out my software doesn't recognize the video files I am trying to convert and then it will say error code= -50. Does anyone know what this means? Talk slowly, I'm not the most knowledgeable guy about this stuff.

Thanks

I have Titanium Toast 11.1, running on Mac OS X 10.7.5. I converted my own VHS tapes to DVD using a Sony VHS->DVD recorder. The resulting DVD disks have ".VOB" video files on them.

When I try to convert the DVDs to H.264 movies using Titanium Toast 11.1 Convert option, it gives me the "-50" error.

I see that this problem was supposedly corrected in previous updates to Toast. Why am I getting this error with 11.1, and how do I fix it?

Thanks!

I have been using Toast 11 on a MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8 for months to convert TiVo Transfer files and now am suddenly getting "Couldn't complete the last command because (ID=-50)." Toast Convert just acts like it has finished, but the resulting conversion file of a 1 hr TiVo video is only about 1 sec. I have deleted the com.roxio.toast.plist file and restarted but the same problem keeps occurring. Since Corel bought Roxio, I don't know where to get any help.

Did you use Toast to edit any of the TiVo Transfer? If so you may notice that the length of the video becomes a few-seconds long in the main Toast window. That is what I've seen with high-def videos. I haven't encountered problems when I don't use the editor.

No, I didn't do anything to the video file and I have completed over a dozen conversions of the same TV show without a problem before this started happening. I might add that I am getting the same error when I try Popcorn 4.

It may be some fault in the file itself. I've sent you a private message with a possible workaround.
