Installation Problems

coltsrock4ever

Question

So lets cut down to the chase. I set up the Game Cap device (hooked wires up to the tv, works great!), sorted out all the component av cables and dealt with that stuff, but then what seemed to be the only problem from stopping me from recording my gameplay was the matter of finding the disk. I searched franticly only to find it in the sleeve of the package, relieved I knew that with one quick installation my long shipping wait would soon be worth it. The problem is that installation was not quick nor did it ever complete. My installation froze on the first time in the screen which said it was installing Microsoft Net 3.5, so I restarted installation and to my pleasure got past that step only to be stuck at installing Direct X 9 (both of these I already have). I restarted installation again and got past Direct X installation only to be in the predicament I am in right now which is trying to get past the screen where it states "Status: Installing Roxio GAMECAP" and the following on the bottom says "File: embDA64.sys Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio Game Capture\EBMBDA\". My computer then seems to stop responding to the CD as it takes me several pushes of the eject button to get it to quit the process. Can anyone help with this problem? Please! I really just want to have fun and make some commentaries :)

First post your install log file.

Try coping the disc to your hard drive and running the setup.exe from there.

You can search the C2012 & C2011 Installation/Uninstallation/Update forums for similar DiretX and Net 3.5 issues.

Thank you so much for the help, copying the disk to my desktop and installing it there did the trick!
