Cd Spin Dr

Gene O'Meara

Question

I use Snow Leopard, Toast Titanium 10.0.5, and CD Spin Dr 6.1.2. Never a problem in the past. Have not used it for a while. Now, when I send 3 or 4 songs, after the waves are created, to iTunes, they show up with correct title in iTunes but all of the tracks only contain the music from Track 1. Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks.

You aren't doing anything wrong. Others have posted about this problem. Instead of sending to iTunes drag the tracks from the track list to the Finder and import them to iTunes from there.

I tried your suggestion. I had 3 songs. I dragged them for the song list in CD Spin Dr to the desktop. The titles of the three were correct. However, when I imported them into iTunes, they played the contents of song #1. The same as when I tried to send them from CD Spin Dr to iTunes directly. The only way I can do it is to send the tunes from CD Spin Dr to Toast. Then burn a CD and then import the CD into iTunes. Not very efficient.

This did not used to happen.

Is there no Roxio Support or Help? I can't believe such a large organization would not have help available.

Thanks for your suggestions. Will keep trying but I can't get away from all the tunes being the same contents as song #1.

I was hoping my suggestion would work. Instead of burning a CD you can choose Save as disc image and then drag the resulting .toast file into the Toast Convert window with Audio Files selected as the format. From there the tracks can be sent directly to iTunes.

Yes, things have changed. I don't know if it is because of changes in the O.S. or iTunes or both. Roxio stopped work on CD Spin Doctor when they decided to write a new version for Toast 11 called Spin Doctor X. It is a real disaster. I've switched to Bias' SoundSaver. Someone (maybe in the Toast 11 forum) also recommended another app.

I'm hoping that Corel's acquisition of Roxio will mean better quality in the future. But my guess is that Spin Doctor is dead (or should be).

I think the Disk Image idea worked. Thank you.

I had a similar problem where Disc Dr. would not "save" my file. The only way it worked was when I did a "Save a copy.." Then it saved the sound file. When I tried to quit the program it asked if I wanted to save the original file...so I said YES....but it wouldn't save it. I tried to click out of the program again and the same question appeared. So I just clicked delete file. I still had the "Save as a copy" file intact.

That's crazy.

It does have its quirks. As I recall I had to first mark a track before I could get the file to save. And then I could open that file so the name of the file appears at the top of the window. When the file name appears at the top you should be able to proceed with any track marking and filtering. There's never been a version of CD Spin Doctor that wasn't troublesome and the latest version called Spin Doctor X doesn't work at all. If you can find other apps to do these functions it is wise to consider them.

I'm trying to install audio capture support so I can record intternet audio with CD Spin Dr. The installation seems to proceed OK until I get a failure notice.

I assume I need this software so I can click on the "Start Audio Capture" button on my Import Audio into CD Spin Doctor window. At the moment it is a ghost button. Any suggestions? Thanks (Toast for Mac 10.0.9)

There are other topics here about problems installing the audio capture support. I don't recall what I did to get it to work but I remember having to go through some hoops. Search the forum to see if you can find some of those discussions. It may be easier for you to get a different application for this purpose such as Wiretap.
