mrssnoo
I've used toast 11 a lot and the burnt discs (from avi files) work fine on DVD players. I don't recall changing anything but now the discs will not work on DVD players.. The discs will work on Xbox so I'm thinking the discs are fine. (tesco DVD-r) Can anyone help please?? tsantee
Which version of Toast 11 are you using? I'm wondering if it was okay when burning video DVDs with 11.0.4 but not with 11.0.5 or 11.0.6. I can check this on my system but it won't be with the same media or the same DVD Player. Still, it may be worth a look.
mrssnoo
It says -11.0.04. Thanks
tsantee
It says -11.0.04. Thanks In that case there shouldn't be any problem. I suggest next time opening the Recorder Settings window (Recorder menu) and after a blank disc is inserted and recognized choose a burn speed slower than Best. Maybe burning at, say, 4X will make the disc more readable to your player. There also may be a slight benefit in choosing Save as Disc Image rather than clicking the burn button and then burning the resulting .toast file to DVD using the Image File setting the in Toast Copy window. Go ahead and update to Toast 11.0.6 (Toast's built-in software updater). You might make a duplicate copy of Toast 11.0.4 in the Finder before doing the update so it is easy to go back if you want. mrssnoo
Where is the built in software updater? When I go on there website I can only see 11.0.4. I'm trying a disc that way now. Thanks for yr help
tsantee
There is a Check for Updates option in the Toast Help menu. There also is an automatic check for updates preference in Toast Preferences. Roxio has issued a Toast 11.0.6 update that way which is not on their software updates page. Thanks I've been able to get the discs working by burning slower Glad it worked to burn the discs slower. I'm puzzled why you're not receiving the update alert. Are you in the U.S.? Are you online when launching Toast? Using the link in the Help menu should also get you the alert.
