Losing Signal And Picture Status

dank69

Question

So, to my second issue at the moment for anyone who might know the answer or suggestions to try. Upon installation of RGC, I have signal and everything is working. Once I close RGC and reopen it, I lose the signal and it freezes up. I have tried Preparing your computer for installing Roxio products, http://kb.roxio.com/...ontent/000080GN (everything is as suggested), I have check tv, ps3 settings, I have tried to make it the priority, and I have tried to uninstall it and then reinstall it several times. All with the same results.

I have tried to do the "repair" option. When I do this, I lose the picture all together, but it doesn't freeze. Unless I hit the capture button.

So, if it is my card, then why does it work in the beginning of installation?

Could it be the roxio component box? Is there a way to see if the box is faulty?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Are you running any registry cleaners - either stand alone or part of an anti-virus? Don't In some cases, they can remove needed registry entries.

No. I disabled everything before installation. Does anybody know if RGC works with windows 7 enterprise?

There seem to be no conflict during installation

Does anyone see any compatibility issues?

After uninstalling RGC and then reinstalling it and didn't perform the updates, it now works fine. If I install the updates, I lose the signal and the it goes into a not responding mode.

Anybody know why this happens?

Also, I reinstalled the divx player and it is back to not identifying any recordings created in the divx format. I uninstalled the divx player, problem solved.

I have found out why the installation of the divx sw conflicts with the RGC. What I did was uninstall each item that gets installed when you install divx on your machine. The divx player and internet player has nothing to do with the conflict. It is the codecs that conflict. RGC comes with the same codec installed. When you install the divx codec during installation of the divx player, it conflicts with RGC. If you remove only the codec from installation, it works fine.

If you are getting a no signal and blank screen, try to uninstall RGC and re-install it. But don't do the sp2 updates. The update killed me. I am not sure about the SP1, however; I did not install it..
