ArchiesArchives
I have a MacdBook Pro with an ATI Radeon X1600 card. I am using Mac OS 10.6.8, 2GB of SDRAM, and over 10 GB of hard drive space left. I could not find the ATI Radeon X1600 card on the supported graphic cards list. Does that mean it will not work on my machine?
tsantee
Toast will work with your Mac but you have some serious shortcomings with RAM and available hard drive space that are greatly compromising the Mac's performance. Go to Otherworld Computing (macsales.com) and buy some RAM. Also, move a lot of stuff to an external hard drive to free up some space. The Mac uses available hard drive space as virtual RAM and your low amount of built-in RAM makes that even more essential. I'm guessing you're confused about Toast's specifications for use of its Turboboost feature. That's just a speed boost for certain functions. Toast works fine with other Macs. I don't have one that can use Turboboost, either.

(I could only use 3 GB of the 4 anyway.) I will clear out some hard drive junk. I have heard that when burning a video some folks were having problems with the 11.0.6 app stalling at 99% not allowing them to finish. I thought maybe the graphics card was the issue. Anyway, I will give it a try.

I have similar macbook (radeon x1900) with 4gb, and by the way it works perfect with toast.

Glad to hear it works! BTW, the specifications for our machine say that you can install 4GB but only 3 GB will be addressed. So, in fact 3GB is the maximum useable memory.
