Problem Converting Tivo Files

meglaneg

Question

I just purchased the Roxio Creator 2012 b/c it was listed on TIVO's website as the only way to convert TIVO files and burn them to a dvd. I installed everything, watched the tutorial on how to convert the file, yet when I go to the "my TIVO recordings" file, it shows nothing in there (even though I can pull open the file and see 5 tivo files waiting to be used). Any suggestions? I'll be really upset if I just wasted my money on a product that really doesn't work.

As I stated above, I watched the tutorial, and it's when I get to the step where you select the file from "my TIVO recordings" (step 9 in the PDF version of the tutorial) that I can't go any further. The files do not appear for me to select, yet when I open the files thru any other means they are there. Both TIVO and Roxio boast about Creator being the only program that will open and convert TIVO files, yet it doesn't. So far I am very disappointed and frustrated.

And to make matters worse, when I try to get support, it takes me to Corel. I tried to create a new account to get support and it states that my email address is already registered in their system. But if I try to log in with that same username, it says the username is not in their system, please register. It's an endless loop. So I can't even contact someone for support. Anyone know of a Roxio customer support phone number? Because if this program doesn't work how it is supposed to, I just want my money back.

The support section is still in the process of being transferred so hiccups are bound to happen.

As for the Tivo files - what Tivo fail to mention is that not all of their programs can be converted (they're scrambled). Now I don't know if this is the case with you or not - I'm only mentioning it in passing.

What happens if you right click on the file and use 'open with' and select the relevant Roxio app from there?
