Danny U.
Hello everyone. I found an old post by Brendon, but the HTML link does not work. Can anyone suggest what else to do? Thanks, Danny Posted 17 January 2008 - 11:12 PM Hi Folks, If Windows can see your drive but your Roxio program can't, try the PX Engine update available from Sonic here (click link). The updater you get from that page can be used to reinstall your burning engine if it is run with a switch. Here's how to do it:- -download PX Engine 4.18.16a from the link halfway down the page at that link -this should get you a ZIP file called pxengine4_18_16a.zip - please save it somewhere on your hard drive -UNZIP that file, and dump the contents into your C:\Windows folder. It should be a file called pxengine4_18_16a.exe -now click the Windows Start button and RUN the following command pxengine4_18_16a.exe /pxhelponvista and click Enter [you can cut and paste the command from here if it's easier than typing it manually] -The PX installer box should open. Follow the prompts to install the PX engine, and then restart Windows. If all has gone well, your Roxio programs should now see your drives Regards, Brendon
Brendon
Hi, A board change broke the link in my pinned message at the top of this forum. Thanks for bringing it to my notice. I've fixed it. The "new" PX updater is HERE. It is best run as an installer, using those instructions. Used without the /pxhelponvista switch it just updates PX files. Used as an installer, it fixes broken settings as well as updating the files. Regards, Brendon .

I unpacked the .zip folder and the installation wizard did the rest (only took maybe 3 seconds before it was done installing). I tried to launch the Easy CD and DVD Burn Home program and the following message still appeared: "All your drives are set to disabled. On this operating system, in order to start Easy CD and DVD Burning Home you must physically remove your drive(s) or enable at least one drive." Is the link that you provided a fix for the above issue? I running Windows7. I only have one 'burner' installed on this computer and I know that it's installed properly because I did a 'test' burn using windows media player to make an audio CD, so I'm not quite sure what the issue could be. Any insight on this? Thank you, Danny U.

Hi Folks,

The updater you get from that page can be used to reinstall your burning engine if it is run with a switch. Here's how to do it:-
-download PX Engine 4.18.16a from the link halfway down the page at that link
-this should get you a ZIP file called pxengine4_18_16a.zip - please save it somewhere on your hard drive
-UNZIP that file, and dump the contents into your C:\Windows folder. It should be a file called pxengine4_18_16a.exe
-now click the Windows Start button and RUN the following command
pxengine4_18_16a.exe /pxhelponvista and click Enter
[you can cut and paste the command from here if it's easier than typing it manually]
-The PX installer box should open. Follow the prompts to install the PX engine, and then restart Windows.
If all has gone well, your Roxio programs should now see your drives
