Universal Conversion Program

rairs9

Question

Is there a Roxio program that will do all the converting I need to do ? I want to convert:

1. old super 8 movies to cd/dvd

2. vhs to cd/dvd

3. beta movies to cd/dvd

4. cassette music to cd

5. 8-track tape music to cd

6. 35mm film negatives to digital pictures

7. 35mm slides to digital pictures

8. LP records to cd

I already have the Roxio's LP to MP3 package but do not want to buy a bunch of programs if 1 will do it all. Thanks for your help.

Roxio Creator 2012 can be used to do all except #1.

You will of course need extra hardware to do some of the tasks such as a capture device to capture of video from a analog video recorder and a scanner to scan the slides and negatives.

Of course this isnt just a matter of Software, you have to have some hardware here too! :o

4, 5 & 8 you can Capture the Audio via your PCs Audio input (with the right cables) or with your existing Roxio product ;)

6 & 7 require a Scanner! Actaully, 6 requires a "Film Negative Scanner" and pretty good one at that! (4800 Optical DPI or more). Don't get suckered in by the Software Enhanced numbers unless you really want grainy results

Movies dont go on CDs… The quality of a VCD is very poor and time is extremely limited…

But for 2 & 3, you must have an Analog to Digital converter! Roxio sells one separately for about $50.

For 1, you will have to go with hardware in the form of a projector and camcorder. Here are some rigs I have used:
