Creator De 10.3 Has Disappeared

Dell User

Question

PLDS DVD + RW DH-16AAS ATA Device is gone from my "Computer". Is listed in Programs. Last used around April 22nd. Tried to update driver online: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration info in registry is incomplete or damaged (Code 19)" Tried to update driver in my computer, Roxio PX Help: Windows found driver software but error while attempting to install.

Driver Version: 6.0.6002.18005

Power DVD DX Cyberlink Corp. 8/9/2010

Roxio Creator DE 10.3 12/16/2009

I have a Dell Optiplex 360 bought in 2009. Running Windows Vista 32-bit Home Version

Tried to download a patch: dell101 patch: software not found; Dell EMC 10.1 could not be located. Reinstall Dell EMC 10.1 and run patch again.

Not sure where to go now because it is listed in my programs, just not in Computer. DVD player will not run. Tried several discs...

If it is in my registry I do not know how to get there or if I should...

Any help will be most appreciated.

DO NOT TOUCH the Registry unless you really know what you are doing. Screwing up you registry is a major problem ! ohmy.gif

sad.gif Unfortunately all support for that product comes from Dell. They had it modified for their use and no one here knows what changes were made. You have to go to Dell.

Your DVD player is by Cyberlink; not Roxio. did you try getting help from them?

Try doing a Windows Restore to when it was working properly or use you hard drive back up. You do have one either one of those available don't you?
