Conversion Of Existing Mov File> Audio Out Of Sync

Question

I have a full HD MOV file taken with a Cannon 7D camera and it plays fine. I tried to convert it to mp4 but audio is running at about twice the speed of the video. I am running it with Windows 7 on a Dell gaming computer with DualQuad processors (8 processors) and full memory expanded so resources should not be a problem. I tried do it again converting it from MOV to DVD and got the same results. Very disappointed.

I agree, it is very disappointing that Canon would charge that much for a camera that does on produce files that meet industry standards! - you should contact them about that!

Often it is as simple as changing the MOV extension to something like MPG or MTS...

Other times you will have to convert the MOV files using a 3rd party converter such as"

AVS4YOU Converter:

Any Video Converter

Jim,

I have the same isssue with Em_Ga. What I don't understand is it plays just fine on quicktime and even on windows media player. But when I try to pull it into creator 2012 pro it butchers it up.

Same solution. We are not the design engineers for Roxio so we can't answer your question. There appears to be some question about the audio track conforming with the standards. Some programs can handle it; others do not. It seems to be related to the format of the audio with certain digital camers used as camcorders. It does not happen with camcorders that capture mov natively.

Roxio knows about it but they have not issued a patch for the last couple of versions. Now that Corel owns Roxio, who knows what is going to happen.
