Cd Spin Doctor Not Capturing Internet Radio

Skylane182

Question

I upgraded to Toast 11 Titanium last fall and have been unsuccessful in attempting to capturing Internet Radio, including SiriusXM, using CD Spin Doctor, the main reason for upgrading to version 11. Started out just wanting to capture American Top 40 for a friend for a gift, but am still trying.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

Is Spin Doctor capturing any other online audio? I don't know if there is something the SiriusXM does to prevent copying. That would be likely if Spin Doctor is working at other non-subscription audio sites.

No, tried capturing several other on-line audio sources with the same result. Support has recommended uninstalling or trashing my current installation and re-installing which I did without success. But, I was not able to find any of the files they suggested uninstalling from Preferences which makes me wonder if my permissions may be set incorrectly and the program is not installing correctly to start with.

Well, you got me to open Spin Doctor X even though I've been so frustrated with it I promised never to look at it again. It started out showing that it was receiving the audio stream from an online site that I played using Safari. I started recording and after less than 30 seconds it no longer showed any audio in the VU meters. I stopped the recording and continued to see the window with the waveform. The audio it did record was heavily distorted and broken up. After that one attempt I can't get it to recognize any audio from either online of playing in iTunes. This is on a Mac running 10.7.4. My conclusion is the very little of this application that once worked in OS 10.6 doesn't work in 10.7. It is unusable.

There's never been any confirmation from Roxio that Spin Doctor X has any problems, but it just doesn't work. If you want to keep trying the preferences file you should trash is titled com.roxio.spindoctorx.plist and it is in your User>Library>Preferences folder. In OS 10.7 you access the user library by holding down the option key when selecting the Go menu in the Finder.

I haven't tried this but one possible option is to run a cable from the audio output jack of your Mac into the audio input jack and then use the Audio recording feature of QuickTime Player to record the line input.
