Burning Error

barry78

Question

When using music disc creator 2010 to burn one or more CD's, the programme completes the burn but gives me the error message "write error - an error occurred whilst writing the disc. Do you want to try to rewrite the disc again?"

When I click 'cancel', it gives me the message (SCSI Device not installed - more information:

D:HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50 (error OX21000012)).

The programme ceases to respond, although the CD has burned successfully.

I do not have any problems with the CD burner and the drivers are up to date. I have used this burner with Windows Media Player and had no trouble. My operating system is Windows 7.

Has anyone any advice?

Barry

Barry,

Do you have WinAmp installed? There are reports on the WinAmp forum of conflicts between their burning engine and that of Creator 2009.

http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=305717

It seems they both use Sonic burn engines which are very similar, and interfere with each other.

Creator 2010 uses the same engine as Creator 2009.

The problem is also discussed on the Roxio board http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/51089-scsi-device-not-installed-error/ but I can't see that it was resolved because people got into an argument about bulletin board protocols. That topic also mentioned a WinAmp conflict.

Regards,

Brendon
