Question

Hi can anyone help with this? i can play files off the camera in windows media player and quicktime player, but as soon as i import the video into creator 2009 ultimate, the sound goes missing? whats happening? they are .mov files, h.264, 720p, 29fps. Its really annoying, so if anyone can help, please do so ! I only bought this camera really for doing videos as it accepts an external mic. At the moment though Im using the onboard mic.

Mov files from digital cameras that masquerade as video camcorders often give that problem. Try the following in order:

1) Change the extension of the mov file to mp4. Make sure that you've changed Windows folders options to show known file types.

2) Try using Copy and Convert Video to change the file from mov to mpg2 (high definition). If you are burning the file to a disc to play on a DVD player, the files will normally be mpg2 anyway.

3) Go to cnet.com and download a free video converter to do the same as in 2). I use "Any Video Converter" but there are others that work equally as well.

Use that mpg2 file in Edit Video Advanced to edit and make the files for the DVD. Burn with Create DVD

Please let us know if it works or if you get hung up. Number 3 seems to work for everyone.

What Windows OS are you running?
