I've found updating Java to the latest version lets me record Minecraft while it's running in a web browser, but Roxio just will not detect it when running it as a standalone application. This is OK for vanilla Minecraft, but is useless for shooting videos of mods or anything like that, as you can't mod the browser version.
Don't know if this stuff will help at all, but I'm better off having it here than not:

Error code or issue: When running Minecraft via the .exe file as a standalone application, Roxio will not detect it as a recordable source. Whether it's due to Minecraft's video requirements or something to do with Java, I have no idea. It will detect it while running in a web browser though.

Did you make any changes to your computer recently? (new applications, updates, etc) If so, what? No. The latest change would have been installing PC Game Capture.
