8004520C Error While Encoding Movie

cardiactiger

Question

I keep getting an 8004520c error while encoding movie when I try to burn to disk. I followed

Roxio advice to defragment disk even though i hhave it set to run once a week. Still got same error message. Then I followed their advice to try and burn to image file and folder set, but keep getting same error message. Can anyone help?

At what point do you get the error message? While encoding the movie or the menu?

How long in time is the project?

What is the source of the movie? Are you using transitions, etc?

When burning to image file or folder set did you also uncheck the "burn to disc"?

It is hard to offer many suggestions without knowing more about your project.

I am trying to make a slideshow from py pictures folder. I have done this many times before without any problem. It is only 30 minutes long. I can preview it just fine, when I go to burn I get the error message. It does not matter which one of the three buttons I click on, burn to disk, image file, or folder set, I get the same message.

You did not post when you get the error message, encoding the movie or the menu? Does the error always occur at the same point? What program from the suite are you using to create the slideshow? Hopefully it is Videowave because then you can output (export) the slideshow to a DVD mpeg, best quality video. If you get the error there then that shows that there is a problem with the project: bad image file, transition or something else.

It is also helpful to list your system specs like many of us have in our signatures. How much free space on your hard drive.
