cdanteek
BTW, I called Norton, and was told it would not interfere with theinstallation and no need to touch the settings. In case anyone else has 360..It did not affect the process. What did you expect them to say? Always shut down programs when installing/uninstalling software especially antivirus/firewall software! Sheila B.
I finally got it!! I downloaded the free audio converter "All2MP3" from cnet. Then I converted 2 files that I had just pulled from a cd (AIFF-C) and converted them to mp3. I was able to successfully upload and save them to a photoshow. Then I tested a file from my iTunes library, which converted from m4a to mp3. That one worked too!! So I think now I'm okay with this. It won't be that difficult to convert files I want to use in PhotoShow before uploading. Thanks for all your help!
Sheila B.
No, I'm only using a Mac and trying to use the online PhotoShow. I've copied two tracks directly from a cd onto my computer, but they are AIFF-C files and can't even upload, let alone save to a photoshow. I'll go back to your suggestion for software to convert the files and try that. I'm determined to do what I can to get this to work, but it's a lot of work for a product that says "Use your own music - Add any MP3 or AAC file up to 50 mb". sknis
I'm getting more confused. Are you using the MAC and the version for IPhoto? Are you usng a PC emulation? Try to rip the cd to your computer but do not use ITunes.
Sheila B.
I really appreciate your help on this issue. I have an iMac with OS 10.7.4. I have a Premium subscription to Roxio Photoshow and am attempting to create a photoshow online. I don't have a pc, and so didn't download the Photoshow 6 software. I'm using Firefox. I have groups of photos from several trips that I want to be able to share online. In the past I have made slideshows using iPhoto, but they're not easily shared. A friend sent me a link to Roxio Photoshow, which looked both easy to use and customizable enough for my needs. I often purchase cd's specifically as background music for these trip shows, so I definitely want to use my own music. I have thousands of files in iTunes - most m4a, but some mp3. I've been trying to upload all types of files but so far only the Katy Perry one linked above has saved into my PhotoShow. I just changed the import settings in iTunes to create new files in mp3 rather than AAF, but they wouldn't save either.
sknis
Just so we get on the same track. Are you using the PC version on line or the MAC version on your MAC? The online PhotoShow will only take mp3 or AAF audio files. See if you can convert the AiFF file to a mp3. There are some free audio converters. Look in cnet.com. or rerip the CD to mp3. Sheila B.
I moved a file to my desktop (an m4a file) but it wouldn't save in the photoshow. It was a file I loaded from a cd, not purchased from iTunes. I tried choosing a file directly from a cd, but that doesn't work either - it's an AIFF file and is "grayed out". I think I'm stuck. sknis
Who knows? Just make sure you own the ACC music. Things stored in ITunes often gives problems. Move the files to a different folder.
Sheila B.
Thanks, I got it, but will it help with music? I haven't had any problems uploading images.
sknis
I'm having the same problem. I'm a new subscriber to Premium Photoshow, and every music file I upload can't be saved. Because I have a Mac I didn't download the desktop version of the software, which is apparently only for Windows. Help!! Perhaps you missed the download version for iPhoto. look at the middle one here. (link)
Sheila B.
I was able to upload and save the Katy Perry file, but other mp3 files haven't worked. I'm really frustrated with this!

fldoggie
Well, I think I'm in business on this issue...I did the softwear download and re-installation..and made a tiny slide show..and successfully used an Amazon, Jimmy Buffett MP3.. ...Right now..it is working!!! BTW, I called Norton, and was told it would not interfere with the installation and no need to touch the settings. In case anyone else has 360..It did not affect the process. So, Thanks for the help. When I get more time, I guess I will take on the next issue..which is Making the DVD's on the HP Touchsmart.. I have still been using my little Acer 11 in lap top and an LG external writer, as the HP was not able to burn them.. Not sure if the new softwear installation has helped or not.. To be continued.....
fldoggie
Thank you for responding...OK..I see what you are saying...I wont have time to play with it right now...but I will advise on how I do. Can you sense my trepidation? Ha,Ha... Fldoggie
sknis
It is not the download. It is the installation where the anti-virus might interfere. Once the program is downloaded to your computer, your anti-virus has probably already scanned it. Disconnect from the internet, shut down your anti-virus if you can and do the reinstall. BTW, your router probably has a built in FireWall..
fldoggie
Carrying over from my other post..my issue with Amazon mp3's on the desk top version...I have not been able to upload to my shows..so I have been making shows on line, where I can do the mp3 downloads..then I download the finished show to desktop..to make my DVD's. sknis replied to my other post with the re-downloading idea.. I was a little paranoid as I didn't want to screw anything up. Are you guys just going on the roxio site and downloading the Roxio photoshow 6 on top of your current copy without any problems. I have Windows 7 on a semi new HP Touchsmart, with Norton 360. I'm not very comfortable with shutting it down...Do you think it would download with permission from Norton..I assume I will get a Norton box, asking me if I want to allow, etc. What say ye? sknis
Hmm, If the mp3 files has no issues but the AAC files do, perhaps a call to Apple/ITunes to ask what they changed would be in order. Do you have any programs that will do the audio conversion?

BLewisHall
Thanks for the song. I was able to load it easily. I think I'll reinstall Photoshow to see if that helps with the AAC problem. If not, I'll guess I'll be purchasing MP3 songs in the future from Amazon. Appreciate the help.
cdanteek
Thanks for the quick reply. I have the Premium service. According to the usage rights for iTunes Store purchases: "All songs offered by the iTunes Store now come without DRM protection." I upgraded to the newest version of iTunes and repurchased the song but am still unable to upload it to my Photoshow. I tried uploading songs that I used for other Photoshows in the past and haven't been able to upload them to my new Photoshow Here is a free Katy Perry mp3 download with no downloader, just the mp3. http://searchmp3.mob...ml?source=index I made a short PhotoShow using it and had no problem. http://www.photoshow.../watch/Nv4qv7IG
sknis
The first thing to try is to upload a mp3 to see if it is your program or the site. If you don't have any mp3, Amazon has free ones that you can download quickly. Yes, it loads a downloaeder but you can remove it if you don't want it. ( You can use Revo uninstaller in the Moderate Mode to remove it) I don't use nor do I have ITunes or I would try it for you. The second thing to try is to download PhotoShow 6 (again) and reinstall it over what you have. This has fixed problems for several people. Edit Note: I just created a short PhotoShow and added an mp3 file. It loaded quickly; there were no issues with the audio.

sknis
Premium service or desktop? Did you read and understand the restrictions (usage) on the use of the iTunes music file that you are trying to use? These are allowed (from Tech Service) Audio File format Supported For Roxio Photoshow 6: 1) MP3 2) M4A (AAC, iTunes & iPod Music) NOTE: Only music which does not have DRM or copy protection can be selected for upload.
