Sorry, this should not have been this hard

Size would be File Size & Resolution would be the Length & Width of the pictures (in pixels) ^_^

IF you have Windows Explorer set to show that, it is at the bottom or in the display fields:

IF NOT, Right click a picture and select the Properties:

Check a few of them, unless you cropped them, they should all be about the same. Hopefully with that info we should be able to help out on this problem you are having ;)

Tell us about the avi file. Is it a DV AVI or something else. There are many kinds of AVI files including DivX.

The program accepts:

  • File types: AVI, MPEG1, MOV, WMV, MP4, MV4, and QT
  • Maximum file size per video file : 50 MB

1) Try the same slide show without the video file.

2) If you have an image editing program on your computer, try reducing the size of the images. Very large high resolution images do cause problems with the program. There are other posts on this.

3) Use a free video converter to convert the avi file to one of the other formats. Wmv or mp4 would be the ones I would try. If you really need the video. Remember 50 MB is NOT very long.

When you say "burn" and it "plays" do you mean the DVD? Have you tried to output the PhotoShow to a wmv file and then watch it. Do you see the images. If so, it is the burn part of the program that is giving the issue.

Ok got some info...

- Photo dimesions 4000x3000

- Max video file size is 7mb (i included 7 of them)

As for the question regarding "burn and play DVD". I burned DVD 4 times and would only play music, wouldn't show any photos. When i tried putting it as WMV file and it would stop halfway thru.

I will try to remove videos and will let you know what happens.

I just tried burning the photoshow on to the DVD without the video files and when the program status was on Burn "closing disc", it eject the DVD for no reason and closed program. I played the DVD and only heard music no photos.

I really haven't used this feature but I did play a little yesterday. (of course it worked fine)

You need to get yourself a DVD RW disc or 2 ~ they are eraseable/reusable and perfect for testing! (not for anything permanent) Try to find Verbatim or JVC discs and avoid the others!

First thing to try is to burn your PhotoShow project to one of these discs. (to eliminate the question of low quality media)

Then what you want to try next is to create a project with smaller pictures - You can batch reduce them using Enhance Multiple Photos, under the Photo tab. Reduce them to 720 X 480 which is the biggest size possible for a DVD.

This is a test project, so don't get overly wrapped up in making it, just add the element you used in the failed one (music, videos & pics) and make it about the same size/length. (we are testing a concept not after an Emmy :D )

Let us know where that leads to.

Some things I did find yesterday, PhotoShow makes a No Menu disc (plays on insert). the disc structure should look like this in Windows Explorer:
