Audio From Video Not Supported

DaBears

Question

trying to make a dvd from my home movies off my camcorder video card. when I try and play video from Roxio 2012 software it plays video but no audio. I get message that says this contains AC3 audio which is not supported, that I need to upgrade software? why does this version not work with all typs of audio files, now I have to go and buy something else. Anybody know how to get this to work?

Thanks

The full Creator 2012 supports AC3 audio, but the cut-down versions don't. They cut out the most popular video and audio codecs so that you have to then buy a full version.

Which version do you have? See the 'Help > About this software' to check the version.

I have Easy CD and DVD Burning Home

Version: 10.3.104

You posted in the Creator 2012 forum, yet you say know that you have Easy CD and DVD Burning Home.

Please verify which you have?.

Did this come pre-installed on your computer?.

That's the 'RedBox' software. It has its own forum, quite separate from Creator 2012, because it's very different software.

It is a severely 'limited function' version of Easy Media Creator 10 [ca. 2009] which has been slightly modified so it can run under Windows 7.

Can you explain what you mean by "when I try and play video from Roxio 2012 software" please?

I have the exact same problem with this program. It's yery frustrating. I just did a home movie today and get nothing in sound.

I even have just purchased a new computer. Same thing as before. Realistically, what is the solution to this?

Realistically, the first sentence in Post #2 holds your answer.
