Question

Hi guys, I have searched a long while but have only found old threads and I suspect I am just unfamiliar with windows to know exactly what to do or what to research.

I have prepared a simple html site, that needs to autorun on a cd. I am burning it using Toast Titanium 11. However, each time I try to follow the instructions I get some error on the Windows 7 home edition pc, saying it cannot be run, something about 64bits, 32bits, and all that.

Outside of the folder where the site is I have two files.

My inif autorun file says this:

CODE

[autorun]

open=ShellExe.exe folder1\index.html

icon=Microsoft-WindowsStart.ico

I have an .exe file in there as as well that says this:

[autorun]

open=folder1\index.html

When I am in Toast, and I have prepared all the stuff I click on MORE, then Choose the .exe file from the Windows Only drop down menu.

This CD has to run on both PC and Macs, and cannot be tied to just one Windows platform... What Can I do??

I will deeply appreciate any help! Thanks in advance! :o

ps/ I also had a mac alias there in the folder but it was converted to an index file and is not going to the right directories.

Anthony

There is this old thread, but nothing mentioned regarding Windows 7.

So I got word that it has to run on windows xp... so the windows 7 question is not totally a worry now.

My inif autorun file says this:

CODE

[autorun]

open=ShellExe.exe folder1\index.html

icon=Microsoft-WindowsStart.ico

I have an .exe file in there as as well that says this:

[autorun]

open=folder1\index.html

When I am in Toast, and I have prepared all the stuff I click on MORE, then Choose the .exe file from the Windows Only drop down menu.

Is that cool? Sorry, im a newbie to this! Cheers! xoxo A

Unfortunately I know nothing about what you're trying to do. However, if you choose Mac & PC as the format then there is an option when clicking the More... button to select a file for Autorun on a PC. Maybe that's an alternative you can try.

I think I am almost there...

I made a .inf file....

[autorun]

open=winopen \homefolder\index.html

label=Game CD

action=View index.html

icon=Microsoft-WindowsStart.ico

Do I still need a .exe file? And if so how do I make it? What does the .exe program itself look like?

Is this right?

[autorun]

open=\homefolder\index.html

What I don't understand perhaps is, does the .exe file and the inf file go together in this little website I made? In the same directory? Or does it sit outside of the cd website directory?

A xo
