Burning Labels On Discs With Toast 11?

Does anyone know of an online tutorial on how to burn labels on discs with Toast 11?

Toast doesn't burn labels. Roxio includes a 3rd-party app call Disc Cover 3 RE for labeling discs. There is a free update available at the belightsoft.com site (be sure to get the update for the Toast-bundled version). On their support page they have a manual and the app's Help documents.

Not beiong a "mac" guy, but I would be curious to know what particular printers that 3rd party software is compatible with ?

A Mac store employee told me that Toast 11 burns labels on disks, but I didn't believe that, so I thought I would confirm by posting this question on this forum thread.

I have an internal Apple drive that can burn text labels on disks, and my objective is to burn text labels directly onto a dvd disc itself, and to not use paper labels.

 

The problem is that I'm having trouble with Lightscribe software in completing this task, so I have been searching for other software for this purpose.

As far as I can tell, no software exists that can burn text labels directly onto a dvd disk (without using paper) besides Lightscribe.

A confirmation of that fact would be fine, as I believe this to be the case.

I have three Epson printers (Epson Artisian 830--835--& 837) that can burn labels directly onto a blank media

disk that has that ability. And the program to design any label is included in the Printer software setup.

 

I assume if I were running a MAC OS rather than windows W7 it would do the same.

The Epson Print CD app can print directly on special “printable” discs (discs with a white coating that will hold the ink) using special Epson printers that feature a disc holder.

Other printer manufacturers publish similar software.

 

Disc Cover or Disc Cover RE (bundled with Toast) prints on a paper adhesive labels (NOT RECOMMENDED), or directly on “printable” discs (supported printers), or can use LightScribe tech to "etch" a monochrome “label” on special LightScribe discs.

 

LaCie also publishes Mac software for using LightScribe.

 

The folks at LightScribe publish a simple LightScribe tool for Mac OS (no custom design or images).

I use the white-surface printable discs so that I don't need paper labels. I never thought very highly of how Lightscribe looks. However, the BeLight site says that Disc Cover supports burning Lightscribe so you might check that out. The RE version bundled with Toast supports Lightscribe Full label, Content label and Text label; whatever that means.

I have an epson r300 printer that prints to dvd's/cd's that are printable. That way you don't use paper and doesn't rely on lightscribe. The sw that comes with toast is compatible with that printer.

I use the epson r300 printer and use the print function that is built into osX. I have lion installed. The important thing about using the print function is that you have to drill down in the print minnows and ensure that you select the cd/dvd format in order to print properly on the disc. I never really liked the epson print cd app. I've printed many disc covers this way.

 

Oh and I use the blight software disc cover re versions 2.x and 3.x with toast 10.x and lion.
