Roxio Game Capture Error While Installing

Question

Ok, so I got my Roxio Game Capture and plugged it all in fine. But when I put the installation disc in to install the software I run into a problem. Here's exactly what happens:

 

First, after I've put the disc in, I click Run Setup.exe

Second, I give the program admin permission to download. After that I select my language. (Which is English.)

After a few moments of waiting an error message pops up saying: "Error attempting to read from the source install data base: E:/CPDECODERPACK_GAME1X/CPDP.msi"

Then after waiting a few more moments another error pops up, this time saying: "Error attempting to read from the source install data base: E:/GAME_1X/Roxio Game Capture.msi"

Then my computer shuts down the installation. Is something wrong with my computer or is it the fact that I'm using a computer and not a laptop? My computer meets all the requirements.

Yeah, the disc that came with the Capture Card in the sleeve with CD Key # and everything. The issue is there is an error when trying to install it.

Can you copy and paste the contents of the disc to a folder on your hard drive?

I've already tried that. Copy and pasting all the files on the disc to folder in the hard drive, then trying to install the software from there jsut gives me the same error.

It might be your version of windows installer.

 

What operating system and service pack are you running?

Windows 7 Home Premium

 

Version 6.1 (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)

 

Do you have another PC to try and see if the same error appears during installation?

 

Contact support and ask for a download your disc may be corrupt.

 

Return the product because the disc is corrupt.

Yeah it works on my mom and dad's laptops. My brother's and sister's laptops are older so it doesn't work. I can't use my parents because it's their work laptop and well, it's for their work. So the only way I can use this disc is on my computer. I already got refund for faulty software. Roxio support never really got what I was trying to say. They must have thought it was a problem with the software, because every time I ask them, they say to reinstall the software.

So you've talked to Roxio and they gave you your money back. Weren't you supposed to destroy the disc?

No. They said not to give it to anyone or to resell it.

 

I think that also includes trying to use it (understood because you said it didn't work for you.) . I would close this thread but perhaps cdanteek has some choice words for you.
